existence: word makes her, rhythm takes her
This is a collection of Urdu poetry – ghazal, nazm, and rubaaii – by Ali Hammad ‘Hami.’
The poetry is strictly metrical, in the tradition of the stalwarts (asaatiza) of Urdu poetry. Some pieces have been transliterated into the Devanagari script, some also into the Latin script. A few have loosely been translated into English.

Ali Hammad ‘Hami’ – cardiologist, writer, poet, photographer, itinerant, world citizen, born in Pakistan, life spent equally in Pakistan and the US, now residing just south of the geographic center of the US and firmly in the middle of nowhere—a suitable place for a Sufi aspirant.
